Brush Components

1.Filament

The working end of the brush, made with synthetic or natural bristle materials.

2.Ferrule

Metal band that holds the fifilament and handle together. Attached by nailing or crimping.

3.Handle

Made of wood, plastic, or other synthetic materials. Provides comfort and good balance.

4.Spacer

Small wood, plastic, or cardboard strip that creates a reservoir to carry paint.

5.Epoxy

Type of cement or adhesive that locks fifilaments or bristles in place.

Brush material

1. Natural bristle these brushes made from animal hair, used to coat oil paint, varnish, shellac, polyurethane and other oily finish.
